Exercise of the week: Rope Skipping

Did you know you can get a great workout just using your jump rope!
Rope jumping/skipping is a great way to improve your cardio fitness, strengthen your bones and test your coordination.
Fitness benefits of jumping rope
  • Jumping rope for 30 minutes will burn approximately 300 calories.  
  • Increased Cardiovascular Fitness
  • Great way to improve the muscle tone in your arms, legs and abs
  • The exercise is easy to learn, no need for a coach.
  • Can be performed anywhere, either be at your home or a nearby park
  • It's inexpensive as you only need a rope.
  • It enhances your coordination and rhythm between hands and feet movements.
  • Strengthens your bones and increases your stamina and endurance.
  • Skipping enhances flexibility and athletic abilities. It improves your reflexes, balance and posture.

Tip: before you jump rope, stretch well to loosen up your muscles, and do the same after your workouts.
